Mongetto...When a product turns into a concept
Carlo and Roberto Santopietro represent the perfect example of how it is possible to return to "the land" after growing up in the city.
Their adventure began at the end of the '70s. On one side Roberto, passionate about cooking and who works in the hotel industry, and on the other Carlo, active in agriculture.
This is how Carlo provides Roberto with the “raw materials”, namely canned goods and wine, for the kitchen of his hotel.
Over the years, Roberto also settled in the countryside, and opened an Agriturismo in Vignale Monferrato with his brother.
The idea of making the products in the jars came to fruition and in 1998, Roberto and his wife Margherita founded the cooperative company Il Mongetto.
An important event will propel their company to the international level. About ten years ago, a gentleman named Oscar Farinetti told them of his dream of bringing together small, quality producers into a retail and catering store. They accept the challenge. Even today, their company continues to develop, while retaining its family dimension since the children Agnese and Giacomo are also active in the company.
Born from the passion and foresight of two brothers, after more than thirty-five years, the Il Mongetto company is today one of the main spokespersons for Monferrato and Piedmont in Italy and in the world.
