Red Wine
VARIETY Barbera
VINEYARD
"Quercia" vineyard. Excellent southwest exposure. Limestone soil. Hand-harvested in late September to early October. Grapes from certified sustainable agriculture.
VINIFICATION
After meticulous selection in the vineyard, the best grapes from the oldest vines are transported to the cellar in small baskets. The fermentation, carried out in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 28°C to 30°C, lasts a few weeks.
After malolactic fermentation and a short resting period in stainless steel tanks, the wine begins aging in medium-sized oak barrels, and then in a large traditional oak cask where it ages for about 12-14 months.
After bottling, the wine is kept at a constant temperature in dark cellars lying flat until its final refinement.
Quercia, the nickname of the vineyard, is the most traditional Barbera produced by Villa Giada and is unfiltered.
